研究概况 阿兹海默症是造成老年人致认知功能衰退的主因,可惜迄今未见有效的预防及治疗方式。本实验室目前。诸多研究成果显示,类淀粉乙型蛋白(Aβ)不正常的聚集累积为导致阿兹海默症主因之一。Aβ为类淀粉前驱蛋白(amyloid precursor proteins, APP) 之裂解产物,会聚集成许不同有毒的结构。本实验室研究主旨,在于理解造成阿兹海默症患者记忆丧失及神经功能退化的原因,以期找出可能用于治疗此疾病的新目标。本实验室目前的研究方向有三个:
1. 利用生化与细胞学的方法,研究在台湾家族中会造成早发性阿兹海默症家族中 ,所发现的APP与PSEN1基因突变,所造成的致病分子机转。
2. 利用APP基因转殖鼠,探讨不同环境或基因的调控,对神经退化及记忆缺失是否有影响,及评估新的治疗或预防认知功能退化策略之有效性和安全性。
3. 与临床团队合作,寻找血液中可协助诊断的生物标志。
